The Banner Saga 2 adds survival mode on consoles
There's also a bundle with both games on PS4 and Xbox One.
Publisher Versus Evil and developer Stoic Games has launched a new survival mode for The Banner Saga 2 on consoles (it was already available in the Steam version). Owners of the game can download it as DLC for £3.99 (€4.99), but if you haven't picked up the first two games in the trilogy it also comes included in the new bundle called "Complete Pack" (which is an odd name given the third and final game is in development) that offers up the two games in one handy bundle for £31.99 (€37.99) on PS4 and Xbox One.
Survival Mode will push players to their limits as it offers 40 back-to-back combat encounters that will require your best tactical skills to overcome.
"Adding the Survival Mode DLC to consoles is going to extend the Banner Saga experience for our fans," commented Steve Escalante, General Manager at Versus Evil. "Survival Mode is pure strategy and is catered to those who want to get into epic viking battles. The Stoic team has been nominated for Best Strategy Game with each Banner Saga 1 and 2 release so it is only fitting there is a mode that truly focuses on this game play. We are excited customers can play the challenging Survival Mode for the first time on console!" he added.
Meanwhile, The Banner Saga 3 was recently funded with $416,986 on Kickstarter, allowing for several improvements the developer could otherwise not afford, and it is slated tentatively for release late 2018.
