That Dragon, Cancer off to a promising start on Kickstarter

The videogame inspired by the late 5 year-old, Joel Green.

A few months ago we had to report the sad news that Joel Green, a 5-year old struggling with terminal brain cancer, had passed away. Joel's parents, Ryan and Amy Green, where already producing a very personal videogame, called That Dragon, Cancer, in the hopes of inspiring and touching player's hearts with Joel's and the family's struggles during the entire process.

With Joel's tragic departure, the game went quiet for a while, but it has made it's way onto Kickstarter now, a tribute to Joel's journey. The campaign is very recent, but they have already gathered more than a third of the $75,000 goal, with 29 days to go. The game is being produced for Ouya and PC, and it will allow special backers to put their art or tribute in the game itself.
