Terminator: Dark Fate has just recently been released in cinemas worldwide, continuing the franchise with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton returning, but now Variety reports that it might be a film that loses quite a bit of money.

Sources state that it could lose $100 million USD after a poor box office performance, including a debut of $29 million in North America and $102 million overseas. Paramount, Skydance, and Disney (via 20th Century Fox) co-financed the project, so they'll face the loss.

Experts estimate the film needs another $450 million to break even, although they predict that it'll instead end the box office run with $180 million to $200 million globally.

This is a similar story to Terminator Salvation and Terminator Genisys, both of which also failed to make their budgets back while also being poorly received.
