During this year's Gamelab we were able to catch up with Raúl Rubio from Tequila Works, and during our interview, we discussed the studio's next games, including Gylt, which was announced just ahead of E3.

"We announced Gylt during the Google Stadia announcement, pre-E3," Rubio reminded us at Gamelab in Barcelona before telling us more about the game and what we can expect - or not, as the case may be. "It's an action-adventure. It's about this little girl, Sally. She's looking for her missing cousin, she's disappeared.

"So basically you are chased by bullies and you end up in this place - or maybe it's not a place because it's, I don't know; it's like Rime by Stephen King or maybe a little bit David Lynch. So maybe Bethelwood, which is an old abandoned [mining] town, maybe it's not even real?!"

"So I can tell you that basically, it's where your nightmares take shape and those shapes are actually something that you need to fight off. How? Well, we're Tequila Works so you can expect a lot of puzzles, exploration, and combat, stealth. But we always try to play with the players' assumptions, we never take anything for granted so you can always expect the unexpected, and that's all I can say for now."

Rubio did, however, have something to say about the studio's incoming game, a direct sequel to the movie starring Bill Murray, and it's a VR game called Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son, which is set to launch September.

Check out the full interview above for more on both games, the news that the studio is preparing for a special celebration, and Rubio's thoughts on the future of cloud-based gaming.
