With the sudden and dramatic "majority closure" of Telltale Games, the last two episodes of the final season of The Walking Dead have been left in the air. Negotiations with other companies to finish the season and possibly bring over the team or parts of it have been taking place and now it seems a deal has been struck.
Skybound Games, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman's production company, has announced via Twitter that they will step in to help bring the series to its conclusion.
"We're SO happy to announce that we've reached a deal with @telltalegames that will allow Skybound to continue #TheWalkingDead: The Final Season! Let's wrap up Clem's story right! More details to come soon."
A further statement released reads as follows: "Skybound will work with members of the original Telltale team to finish the story in a way the fans deserve. Skybound will continue to update fans on the status of the game on Skybound.com, Twitter, and Facebook."
Now, with the closure of Telltale Games and staff being left without severance pay, it's far from certain that all or even most of the team responsible will move over to Skybound, but here's hoping they do so Clementine gets the send off she deserves and that fans aren't made to wait any longer than necessary.
Thanks, IGN.
