Just days after the news surfaced regarding the partial closure of Telltale Games and the apparent cancellation of several titles, it looks like The Walking Dead: The Final Season has disappeared from the Playstation and Xbox One digital stores, as well as on Steam (but not, it would seem, on the Switch), with fans no longer able to purchase the season pass for the episodic game.
While it would seem self-explanatory, no statement has been made by the developer. However, on GOG there is some information that explains the removal:
"Telltale has requested a temporary pause of sales of The Walking Dead - Final Season. For all up to date Telltale news, please refer to their official Twitter page."
Hundreds of Telltale developers were sacked by the company late last week. Since then it has emerged that the skeleton team remaining at Telltale is looking for a way to finish the final season of its headline series, although that stance has been met with criticism from some quarters.
If they can't find a way of finishing the game, the "temporary pause" mentioned on GOG could well turn out to be a permanent one.
