Tales from the Borderlands

Telltale not working on The Wolf Among Us or Borderlands

Head of communications Job Stauffer has cleared things up.

Update</b: Telltale just confirmed The Wolf Among Us 2, and it's coming next year.

<b>Original: The internet has been buzzing lately, as there has been speculation that a sequel to The Wolf Among Us or Tales from the Borderlands could be in development, but it seems neither of those are true.

In regards to Tales from the Borderlands, Telltale Games' head of communications Job Stauffer stated on Twitter that the next entry for Borderlands comes from Gearbox Software, and not from Telltale.

As for The Wolf Among Us, not long ago a regular voice actor for Telltale Games, Adam Harrington, retweeted a teasing photo from Telltale Games, who are doing some sort of announcement during San Diego Comic-Con. Harrington does the voice of The Wolf Among Us' Bigby Wolf, so people got excited about a potential sequel, but Job Stauffer was on hand again to express his concerns about people getting their hopes up in the wrong direction.

"I worry about people getting their hopes up in the wrong direction. He may be of very few words, but Adam also voices Groot in our GotG. ;)," he said. This isn't a stone cold refusal of a sequel, and the winky face doesn't help matters, but this does imply people have got the wrong end of the stick.

Stauffer also talked in an interview about Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us, because neither of them had a conclusive ending, and in regards to the latter, this is what Stauffer had to say:

"We have been asked over and over again for some insight into the mystery at the end of the finale for TWAU. Something I've always wanted to admit is that while we do have a clear answer to who was who at the end of that story... we had also agreed to keep it a mystery for the fans to ponder on their own."

And for Tales from the Borderlands, he said this: "While there are currently no plans for us to continue the story on the Telltale side, we do know that our friends at Gearbox and 2K are hard at work on what's next for the Borderlands universe. We know that also means if anything happens Rhys, Fiona and the gang... the ball is in their court to see whether they will or will not be explored again in any possible future entry into that universe."

Which of the two would you like to see first?
