While the ESL One Katowice competition may have been going down in Poland this past weekend for Dota 2 fans to enjoy, with Team Secret lifting the trophy there, over in Macau the MDL tournament was also taking place, with Team Liquid being the victors and earning $135,000 USD.

In the group stage Liquid held a 5-2 record, winning all their games except those against Vici Gaming and Royal Never Give Up. Despite their two losses though they finished in first place, earning themselves a rematch with RNG in the playoffs, where they won 2-0 this time around.

Evil Geniuses were their opponents after that, although they also fell 2-0 to Liquid to drop into the losers bracket. After beating Virtus.Pro in a tense 2-1 battle they set up a rematch, but Liquid won the final 3-1 to earn the trophy for themselves.

Which was the better event, this or ESL One Katowice?
