Last Friday esports organisation Team Dignitas announced they had re-signed its first women's team for CS:GO, who would continue to compete in tournaments across the globe, and that includes the Intel Challenge Katowice competition in Poland this past weekend, a tournament that they actually won.

They started the competition well by beating Team Singularity in a nail-biting 19-17 win, as well as claiming a more comfortable win over Keyd Stars, putting them through Group A with a 2-0 record to face second-place Group B finishers RES Gaming. In this semi final RES claimed an early map point, but the other two maps were comfortable victories for Dignitas, who walked away with a grand final spot.

It seems as if Dignitas carried this confidence into their grand final match against Squared Female, as the first map on Inferno ended up 16-2 to them, before Train at 16-4, meaning they lifted the trophy in style, along with $25,000 USD.

"This past year, my team and I have been working extremely hard to prove why we deserved to be picked up by such a respected organisation like Team Dignitas," said EMUHLEET, Captain and AWPer. "We are going into 2018 with very high expectations for ourselves and are proud to continue our journey with Team Dignitas and the dynamic HBSE family."

"We started our Team Dignitas journey with a second-place finish at Intel Challenge Katowice 2017, followed by a championship title at the Girl Gamer Festival Macau," she added. "We're incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to travel internationally and represent Team Dignitas, a reminder of the growing esports landscape."

Do you think that Team Dignitas can be one of the forces to be reckoned with this year?
