Bandai Namco has released the first dev diary dedicated to The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan, the first entry in a horror anthology series developed by Supermassive Games (Until Dawn). In particular, this video is focused on the creation and development of one of the core parts of the game: the phantom ship.

With this first dev diary, the team takes us behind the scenes of the creation of the phantom ship, telling us how they worked to make the audio of the door latches authentic and how the sound reverberates through the ship, talking about the concept itself and the influences that led to the creation of the ship. It seems that every single detail has been designed to give players the most terrifying experience possible. Yikes.

In Man of Medan, four young Americans are on a dive holiday looking for a WWII shipwreck. But suddenly their journey turns into something much more sinister. Who will survive to this adventure? We'll find out when The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan lands in 2019 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

REVIEW. Written by Sam Bishop

"The technical state of the game is enough to put a dampener on what's actually a very intriguing, if not short, first entry in The Dark Pictures."
