2017's Thor: Ragnarok was a hit with fans, and now it seems like director Taika Waititi has been rewarded for his success on this project, as The Hollywood Reporter tells us that he's signed on to director a fourth Thor film as well, although this means that 2021's Akira film, based on the manga, has been delayed indefinitely.
This is because production dates for both projects would have clashed. Issues with the script caused Akira's shooting to be delayed, and sources allegedly say the dates are now too close, meaning that the future of the Akira project is unclear. Sources within the report, however, say that Warner wants to keep Waititi involved and perhaps work on Akira after Thor 4.
Waititi's Jojo Rabbit is due for release in October, featuring Scarlett Johansson, but would you like to see him take on another Thor project?
