The Silver Case Remastered, the new version of Goichi "Suda51" Suda's first game developed at Grasshopper Manufacture, is being released today.
We recently talked to "Suda51" about bringing this game from 1999 back with a remastered edition and releasing it in English for the very first time.
He explained that he wanted to respect his "young self", by not changing anything in the script - a very long one and the chief reason why it has taken this long to bring it over to English speaking audiences.
"It's been nine years since the first try to make it in English," says Suda51. "So I'm having a very special feeling about this."
While Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture have moved towards the action genre, delivering many blood-filled experiences in recent years, he does express an interest to return to the adventure genre where he feels his roots lie.
The veteran game developer feels that the game still stands out compared to both older and newer games in the genre.
"Even 18 years ago when the game first came out there is nothing like Silver Case," says Suda51. "But still Silver Case has something new and different from other adventure games."
