January 16 marks the release date of Street Fighter V's Arcade Mode, alongside the Arcade Edition of the game, and now a new post on Capcom's website has given us some more details about the mode and what it'll feature.
In the Arcade Edition you'll be able to tackle six different paths, each representing a main title, and through these you can "witness unique character endings that commemorates 30 years of Street Fighter." These paths include all of the numbered titles as well as Alpha, and you can customise how many total rounds you want and the difficulty before starting these.
Each path has characters true to the game they correlate with, so in Street Fighter III's path you can only select certain fighters, for instance, and "Sean is represented through Laura while Kolin appears briefly in Gill's intro." After each battle you also get the choice on who you want to battle next, which opens possibilities of higher scores if you want to take on the harder opponents. Arcade Mode points are then accumulated each month and the player with the highest score after this getting a "unique Title".
Bonus Stages also appear at times as well, tasking you with breaking 20 barrels, and in these you'll get help from an AI character keeping these barrels in the middle for you. In terms of Arcade Mode endings, though, there are over 200 different endings, all with illustrations from different artists, and their own conditions to end as well.
Those at PlayStation Experience can play the Arcade Mode at the event, but the rest of us will have to wait until January. Does this sound like something that can majorly spice up your Street Fighter experience?
