Capcom has finally announced a final release date for Street Fighter V, as it is now scheduled for release on February 16, 2016. The fifth chapter in the classic fighting series will be released for PlayStation 4 and PC simultaneously. Capcom also revealed Dhalsim as a playable fighter, that players in the Paris Games Week will have the chance to try out in a new demo.
So the Street Fighter V cast includes the following confirmed characters: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, Dhalsim, Vega, M. Bison, Birdie, Charlie Nash, Necalli, R. Mika, Rashid, Karin, Zangief and Laura. That makes it 15 out of 16 characters to be launched in the final game. Capcom also revealed that six additional fighters will be made available before the end of 2016.
Everything related to gameplay content and characters can be unlocked with Fight Money, a in-game currency that can be won while you play. Of course, those who want to speed up the process can buy the new features using real money. You can watch Dhalsim in action in the new trailer below.
You can catch up on the specifics of Dhalsim's new moves on Capcom-Unity, but here's a brief excerpt:
"In SFV, Dhalsim once again joins the fray to help those in need. Not one to slack on his Yoga training, Dhalsim has mastered a few new Yoga skills for this upcoming battle, those being his V-Skill - Yoga Float and his V-Trigger - Yoga Burner.
V-Skill: Yoga Float
Upon activation Dhalsim hops into the air and floats for a few seconds. During this time, all airborne attacks and specials are accessible. This can also be activated in the air.
V-Trigger: Yoga Burner
Dhalsim shoots out a stream of flames that stays on the screen on the floor for an extended period of time. If the opponent stands in the flames, they will slowly lose life in the form of recoverable damage. Once they step out of the flames, their life will begin to recover."
