It was only yesterday that we reported that Season 3 of Netflix's series Stranger Things had received a brand new trailer before it started on July 4, and now there's even more good news for fans. Last night Nintendo revealed that Stranger Things 3: The Game would be landing on the Switch, and it'll be released on the exact same day as the series.
As you might have imagined, this seems like a bit of a love letter to the series, and BonusXP and Netflix have worked to bring us this game in a 16-bit style featuring characters from the show. There are 12 playable characters to choose from, and fans can even team up in two-player local co-op, or on their own with an AI partner. Each of these characters has their own abilities and skills though, so choose carefully.
We'll see events from the series as well as all new pieces of narrative, including "new mysteries beyond what's seen in Season 3," according to the product page.
We have a new trailer and some screenshots to share down below, and remember the game is also coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Will you play this alongside watching the series on July 4?
