We didn't know oodles about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but during the weekend just gone, we did learn that the game will be releasing on November 15 and that it won't be rocking microtransactions. That's all well and good, but it doesn't tell us much about the game, however, a listing on Microsoft's Store and a PS Blog post has given us a little more intel.
According to the store listing, players will be tucking into a "galaxy-spanning adventure" that has players walking in the shoes of a padawan who escaped the infamous Order 66 (as seen during Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith).
Players will be tasked with rebuilding the Jedi Order while they complete their own training, developing new Force abilities and their technique with a lightsabre (that means "striking, parrying, dodging"), which will apparently lead to "cinematically-charged lightsaber and Force combat." We can only dream that they get this bit right.
According to the listing, "players will need to fight for survival while exploring the mysteries of a long-extinct civilization all in an effort to rebuild the remnants of the Jedi Order as the Empire seeks to erase the Jedi completely." The story sound particularly interesting, but with industry favourite Chris Avellone apparently involved, that's not a huge surprise.
Naturally, the enemy in the game will be the Empire, with "its deadly Inquisitors" chasing after young Cal Kestis. This Jedi-on-the-run will team up with "a former Jedi Knight, a cantankerous pilot, and a fearless droid," and together they "must escape the evil machinations of the Empire in a story-driven adventure. Explore and overcome a wide range of challenges focused on combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving."
Along the way, we'll visit biomes built around "ancient forests, windswept rock faces, and haunted jungles", which paints a fairly diverse picture of this narrative-driven adventure in A Galaxy Far, Far Away. We didn't get much more intel from the PS Blog, but Respawn did share some concept art and you can see both new pieces below.
