Steven Spielberg has just set a new record in the film industry, as he has become the first director in the world to generate more than $10 billion USD at the box office. According to Entertainment Weekly, and using figures from Box Office Mojo, Spielberg films have crossed the mark thanks to Ready Player One.
He's not just the first in doing so, but is also well ahead of any other. The three top generators of revenue for the director are Jurassic Park, which comes first with almost $1 billion, followed by Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ($786.6 million), and E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial ($717 million).
Is it a deserved milestone for Spielberg?
