Swedish indie studio Image & Form keep pushing SteamWorld Heist onto more platforms almost one year after the the release on Nintendo 3DS. After arriving to PC and consoles, including the Wii U, the turn-based 2D shooter arrives on iOS for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch today.
The quirky band of robot pirates is making a strong start on the new platform. Image & Form informs that the games has entered straight to the Editors' Choice listing. Downloading this version of the game cost $6.99/€6.99/£4.99, but there is a firm belief at the company in premium games on mobile at the company.
"Apple is making a great effort at pushing premium games, which is a healthy initiative," says Brjann Sigurgeirsson, CEO of Image & Form. "Their slogan 'Pay once and play' sums it up rather nicely."
"We're obviously very proud of SteamWorld Heist, and honored that Apple acknowledges the game in this way," says Sigurgeirsson. "It shows that attention to detail and quality goes a long way, and that clout or studio size doesn't have to matter. Sometimes it can all be about the game. "
