Blizzard has announced that two new Arcade maps will be coming into StarCraft II with patch 4.3.0, both of which were made by members of the community alongside the team at Blizzard, with these community members also receiving a share of the sales directly when purchased.

Ark Star is the first of these maps, made by prominent community map-maker Daniel 'Pirate' Altman, and this map is described as follows:

"This interstellar adventure follows the Sol Seekers, an elite team of templar on a mission to find and destroy a mysterious weapon known as the ARK Star. Discover and craft new equipment to strengthen your squad, level up and unlock new talents and abilities to customize your play style, and bring the wrath of the templar onto your foes!"

This will be available for purchase for $4.99 USD, but then there's also Direct Strike, created by another longtime community member called Tya, described as an "evolution" of the Desert Strike HotS Arcade map. This will instead be free, but there's also a paid premium version that gives new modes and cosmetics.

Direct Strike will also replace Desert Strike HotS in Arcade, and the new modes will including Sabotage, hiding the staging areas for players and allowing for unit bans, as well as a Switch mode, allowing you to change your race in the middle of a game. Premium will cost $4.99 too, and the good news is that if you're hosting a premium version, anyone using the free Direct Strike can still join.

Which of these maps do you think looks better?
