The ESL has announced that it is changing the format of the StarCraft II Pro Tour for the 2023/24 season. The season will now include weekly ESL Open Cups, ahead of two online Masters Regionals, which will feature live in-person finals - one that will be in Sweden in May and the other in Atlanta in November.

This will then be followed by the ESL Pro Tour Championship, which will be announced and explained in further depth later this year.

To add to this, ESL will be merging the Latin America and North America regions, and will likewise be doing the same with a lot of Asian countries (and even Oceania here) to make a solidified Asia region. Europe and Korea will continue to operate as it does currently.

Finally, ESL also revealed that going forward it would be funding all of the prize money for the tournament, as it further brings everything in-house.
