Stanley Parable fan gets game's narrator to narrate proposal

The Stanley Parable's narrator, Kevan Brighting, is known for his distinctively soothing voice, and Stanley Parable fan Chad Oliver managed to get Brighting to narrate his proposal to his now-fiancee (spoilers) Morgaine. He even filmed the whole thing (via Kotaku).

The proposal came on the couple's eight year anniversary, and all his friends and family gathered to witness the proposal. What makes this all the more special is that Oliver had been diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney failure in 2013 and planned the proposal in between being diagnosed and getting a transplant.

"While I waited for a new kidney and already started a Facebook group to plan my proposal with close friends, I decided to write Morgaine letters as if they were from her favorite video game characters," Oliver explained. Once the transplant worked and Oliver was better, he then contacted William Pugh, one of the minds behind The Stanley Parable, who helped set him up with Brighting.

"It was very romantic," Oliver said. "It was almost like a disembodied voice wasn't narrating this deeply personal moment."
