Sony talking to Metal Gear Solid movie director?

The continued efforts to make Metal Gear Solid into a cinema worthy movie have gone on for so long now that it deserves to be made into a movie itself. Nevertheless Deadline now reports that Sony is in early talks with Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) to direct the adaptation of the popular videogame.

We're still sceptical, unsure whether the movie will actually get off the starting line (seeing as we've heard similar stories many times before), but would gladly see what the talented director could do with the story of Solid Snake.
