Sony owns Sunset Overdrive franchise

After they acquired Insomniac, they also got all of their past games as well, although don't expect a sequel just yet.

During Gamescom week Sony revealed that they had acquired Insomniac Games as a Worldwide Studio, following on from the success of Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 last year, but what about Insomniac's other games, like Xbox-exclusive title Sunset Overdrive?

Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has addressed the topic when talking with Inside Games (as brought to us in English by Push Square), saying that Sony now owns the Sunset Overdrive brand, since "SIE holds the rights to past Insomniac Games works".

"I am looking forward to future titles," he added, and considering how well Spider-Man performed as a PS4-exclusive title, it'd be wiser to anticipate another Spider-Man game than a Sunset Overdrive title.

Would you like more Sunset Overdrive though? If so, you can always check it out on PC, as of last year.

REVIEW. Written by Ingo Delinger

"This has much akin to the likes of Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi, but still has all the polish and additions expected of a modern day video game."
