Sonic Mania features the return of Competitive Mode

Last week Sega announced Time Attack for Sonic Mania, and now it's time to reveal a Competitive Mode, a mode that long-term fans of the series may remember from the classic games.

Playable characters in this mode are Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, and the winner is determined by measuring clear time, score, number of items collected, number of rings collected when clearing the level, and total number of rings collected throughout the level. You can adjust the rule set ahead of each match if, for instance, you want to match specific skills like collecting rings, so it's customisable too.,
