Song of the Deep is Insomniac Games new project

It's the story of a young girl searching for her father at the bottom of the ocean.

After yesterday's teaser, Insomniac Games has just unveiled its next project, Song of the Deep. The game follows a retro-style action-adventure theme set at the bottom of the ocean. Players will assume the role of Merryn, a young girl that builds a submarine and sets off to find her father on the seabed.

While searching for the missing fisherman, Merryn will "make friends, discover lost civilizations and ruins, and upgrade her submarine to explore even deeper." Although it includes some combat, Song of the Deep seems more focused on puzzles and exploration.

More peculiar is Song of the Deep's publisher, Gamestop, the US store that makes its debut in this area of video games (they also own Game Informer). Song of the Deep will be released in the summer on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Below you can watch the first trailer and some images, or peek at the official website for more information.
