Nintendo has just published some brand-new tournament guidelines for the competitive Super Smash Bros. scene, making some big and worrying changes to how small tournaments will be run going forward.

In the post on Nintendo's site, there are changes to how many people can participate in community tournaments, how much money can be made from these events, and more. Most of these alterations are being read as restrictive by fans, which isn't inspiring confidence.

There are also broader terms, such as a tournament not being able to involve anything Nintendo deems inappropriate, which gives a lot of power to the company. Fans have been giving their honest reactions online since the post went live, and most of them aren't happy.

What do you think about these new rules?
