If you're into card battlers AND roguelikes then slide Slay the Spire right to the top of your wishlist because MegaCrit's dungeon-crawling deck builder is a hybrid title that combines both genres to promising effect.

The game has been in Early Access on Steam for some time, but it's set to emerge from open development on January 23. It's also worth noting that once the upcoming Steam Winter Sale is over, there's going to be a price increase, so if you've already clocked this one and you're trying to make your mind up, do so sooner rather than later if you want to get the best price.

The game fuses deck building mechanics with roguelike staples to create an experience where you effectively build your character from scratch as your progress through a procedurally generated world, only to start from scratch after you've played your last card and gone the way of the dodo.

The news came via the game's latest update which also "brings further visual polish and improvements to controller support while we continue work on Steam Trading Cards and Workshop support."
