Skydance Media has revealed that they've recruited veteran developer Amy Hennig and executive producer partner Julian Beak to make up a new division "to shape the future of interactive media".

This is targetted at gamers and non-gamers via streaming platforms, creating "new story-focused experiences" in the form of interactive series. "State-of-the-art computer graphics" will be used to provide high visual quality, except with the audience placed in control.

"The interactive media landscape is continually changing and Amy and Julian are creative and visionary leaders of this evolution," said David Ellison, CEO of Skydance Media. "Together, we will create within this new sphere the same type of event-level entertainment experiences that Skydance is known for in features and television."

Hennig is known for her work at Naughty Dog on the Uncharted series, but she also took the lead on a now-canceled Star Wars game that she told us last year was "the game you would've expected".

Is this a good move for Skydance?
