The well-received Autonauts has been out for just over a month now, and more content is on the way, including six separate content drops over the next six months, bringing a large number of new additions to expand the already large indie title.
Starting out with their Autumnauts drop, which is already available in-game, this brings in new robot variants, including the Discord 'Create a bot' competition winner 'JohnGames'. An array of new cooking options are also being added to keep colonists happy, as well as new clothing and Gnomes to decorate the world.
December will see the release of 'Xmasnauts', and this content drop will include new flora and fauna in the world, buildings offering some new gameplay opportunities, and even more food options.
January 2020 will introduce 'Phase 2: The Age of Steam', adding mod support for players to customise the world to make it even more unique for each individual, as well as the introduction of steam engines to transport resources across the world via trains. New shelter options will become available too, not to mention medicine/healthcare.
February will be the smallest of the releases, as 'Waternauts' will see the addition of new fish to catch and the aquariums to house these fish.
The fifth content drop 'Easternauts' will be another holiday-themed drop, bringing in some more flora and fauna, another selection of new buildings, and some new recipes to expand the cookbook.
The final content drop, 'Phase 3: The Age of Enlightenment', will include the most content, starting out with education and art to broaden the knowledge of colonists, something labeled 'Transcendence' for new gameplay challenges, a new silk texture to make higher-quality clothing, more buildings, flora, fauna, clothing, and a new oil refinery adding machines and creation options.
Will all of this new content keep players coming back month after month?
