We all know the story by now. Hideo Kojima spent too much money making Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and as a result, the publisher cancelled the upcoming dream team-project Silent Hills that Kojima was developing with Hellboy-director Guillermo Del Toro. Del Toro has talked about the cancellation in many interviews and stated that it "makes no f-ing sense at all". Speaking with Bloody Disgusting, Del Toro also said the game would have had similarities to games such as The Last of Us:
"We had a great experience and had great story sessions with hundreds upon hundreds of designs. Some of the stuff that we were designing for Silent Hills I've seen in games that came after, like The Last of Us, which makes me think we were not wrong, we were going in the right direction."
Thanks, Bloody Disgusting.
