Shenmue III launches with a new documentary

Yu Suzuki and others in the industry reflect on the series and where it's been to get to where it is now.

Shenmue fans have been waiting an awfully long time for the third game in the series, but Deep Silver and YS Net have just released Shenmue III into the wild today, with a brand new documentary video being released to celebrate its arrival.

In the video, YS Net CEO Yu Suzuki talks about his experience with the series, while others in the industry reflect on his legacy and the series he created. We also get a brief history lesson about what happened with Shenmue in the past, all of which leads up to this game.

"Thank you so much for your enduring support these 18 years since Shenmue II... I hope from the bottom of my heart that Shenmue III becomes special for you, truly I thank you," Suzuki said.

Shenmue III sends you deep into rural China as Ryo Hazuki as you try to find your father's killer, letting you explore the world, take part-time jobs, interact with people, play arcade games, and train in martial arts.

REVIEW. Written by Mikael Sundberg

"Shenmue 3 certainly doesn't feel limited by its budget, rather it's lifted by the developer's will to keep to the ambition of its predecessors."
