There's been an influx of people with strong ties to traditional sports on the American esports scene this year, and another two superstars just joined the growing phenomenon.
Former NBA superstar Shaquille "Shaq" O'Neal and New York Yankee Alexander "A-Rod" Rodriguez have both bought stakes in the NRG esports organization, reports gossip site TMZ (but please, don't clink that link, TMZ's terrible mutilation of the English language and sentence structure will melt your brain).
NRG currently fields teams in League of Legends, where they're doing very respectably, and Counter-Strike, where they pulled a massive upset just last night by beating EnVyUs.
Shaq and A-Rod have bought their stake in NRG along with White Sox baseball player Jimmy Rollins, but it's unlikely you've heard about him, so he doesn't get to go in the headline.
