See what we thought of Marvel's Avengers in our video preview

Here's what we thought of Square Enix's much-anticipated title that had a playable demo at this year's Gamescom.

Marvel's Avengers is a story-based experience, telling the events of A-Day, the day when the Avengers disbanded due to a disastrously unsuccessful mission, before taking a look into the future and where the superhero squad is now. Throughout the game, players will be able to play as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and even Hulk as they do all in their power to protect the people.

One of the biggest talking points of the title is that Square Enix has promised there will be no micro-transactions that affect gameplay at all and whilst there will be some, they will be cosmetic only. For a deeper look into the game, you can take a look at the full written preview as well as the video preview, which takes a further look into the individual characters and what makes them so fun. Marvel's Avengers is set to release in 2020, on May 15.
