German football team FC Schalke 04 has been involved with esports for some time now, and a recent Facebook post has updated fans on what's happening in their esports ventures at the moment, which all revolves around preparation.
"In the last few weeks we've been focusing on planning out our infrastructure in Berlin. We're happy to share that we've found a great living space for the players and an office space close by for practice (5 minute walk seperating the two). The recent focus has been on putting processes and planning in place for the 2018 season. We made some crucial hires that will be starting soon in different fields (manager, strategic coach, social media) and we're making sure we're all on the same page before we start pumping out content," the post explains.
We also discovered that the players have been in Gelsenkirchen for over a week, and this venue will be their bootcamp from today onwards, where scrims will be taking place and social media updates will be posted. The players will even get to attend the team's football match against FC Augsburg to see a match in the stadium. "We will also present the league of legends team to the Schalke 04 fans on the pitch before our match vs FC Köln," the post adds.
How well can Schalke 04's esports team perform moving forward?
