Saint Patrick's Day comes to Modern Warfare Remastered

Activision has announced an event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered which should get you in the spirit for Saint Patrick's Day, suitably called Operation: Shamrock and Awe.

Included in the event are new, green Supply Drops, and there's one available for free each week when you log in, starting now and ending at 12:01 AM PDT (7:00 AM GMT) on April 3. Be careful, though, because these don't stack up, and there's only one a week.

Also, this event means brighter skies for Downpour, as the weather on the rainy map has been changed, and is called Daybreak. This is a free map only available during this event, and it's worth seeing, as there's plenty of "lush, green countryside filled with St. Paddy's décor and a rainbow, naturally." Completing in-game challenges on Daybreak also unlocks two Saint Patrick's Day themed camos for your guns, "the Shamrockin' "Folium" and the rainbowtised "Prism."" Again, these are only available for the duration of this event though.

As if all this wasn't enough, there's Saint Patrick's Day themed calling cards, emblems, and reticles, and each set unlocks a bounty. "Assemble the "Luck" collection to earn a new character, "Leprechaun" rewards you with a Shillelagh melee weapon, and "Pot o' Gold" gives you a unique calling card worth fightin' for," Activision explains.

If you get all three themed collections, you also unlock Darren "Graves" Cosgrave as a playable character, although again he's only available as part of the event.

A new trailer shows the event off, which is the first seasonal event for Call of Duty in 2017. Are all these goodies worth fighting for?
