There's a rumour floating around the internet that, hidden amongst a plethora of other games like Bloons TD5, Human Fall Flat and Loco Roco, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X is releasing on PS4 next week with little to no fanfare.

This rumour comes courtesy of this tweet from Gematsu and this tweet from AllGamesDelta, suggesting that the survival horror title is launching on PS4 on May 9. PlayStation Universe has reported the news too, so while there's no official confirmation from Sony or Capcom, it's looking to be legitimate. What we don't know. however, is whether it will be an updated version of the PS3 HD release, or a straight port of the PS2 version to join the Classics lineup.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X follows Claire and Chris Redfield and their friend, Steve Burnside, in their attempts to survive a viral outbreak at a remote prison island in the Southern Ocean and a research facility in Antarctica. It's a standard Resident Evil game with puzzles, the series' signature controls, and zombies and monsters to fight through, but it was the first game in the series to use real-time 3D environments, which are now commonplace in the Resident Evil games. It was initially released on the Dreamcast, with the PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions following.

Is this a classic in the Resident Evil series?
