Delay gives devs the opportunity to improve online features.
EA has confirmed that Rory McIlroy PGA Tour has been pushed back from its proposed June release date, and that it will now be launched on July 14. The launch now coincides with the Open Championship at St. Andrews, but there's another benefit to taking the extra time.
"Launching the game on July 14 allows us to deliver a fully-featured online offering including online tournaments. We know even though golf can be a fun game to play solo, it's even better with friends," explains the EA Sports blog. "Our team has been hard to ensure online rounds and tournaments are a fun experience from day one."
