Rift is now free-to-play
MMORPG adopts new payment model.
Remember a couple of months ago when we told you that Rift was going to turn free-to-play, well it's finally happened.
Trion Worlds' MMORPG adopted the new financial model as of yesterday. Before there was a level-cap system, where players could enjoy content up to level 20 before having to fork out; that ceiling has now been lifted and the developers will seek out their financial reimbursement via micro-transactions and whatnot.
