Rift is now free on Steam

The free-to-play version of Rift is now available to download and play through Steam.

Trion Worlds' MMORPG made the leap from paid subscriptions to the more fashionable free-to-play model earlier this year, and that version of the game is now available for those wanting to use their Steam account.

On top of the free edition, there's also three different paid options; the Ascended Edition (£14.99), the Patron Edition (£29.99), and the Ultimate Hardcore Patron Edition (£75.99), each of which will grant you additional benefits in the game.
