Resolution Games' Acron merges mobile and VR gaming

The VR player becomes a giant tree, while those on mobile are squirrels looking to collect Golden Acrons, coming this summer.

Resolution Games - the developer who brought Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs to life - has revealed a new multiplayer party game called Acron, letting you compete and cooperate with your friends on VR and mobile devices.

"We've always believed that VR is more enjoyable when you can play with your friends and family," said Tommy Palm, co-founder and CEO of Resolution Games. "Acron takes that idea even further by allowing players in VR to play with and against opponents on mobile in a social setting. And not only is this game a prime way to introduce people to VR, but I can honestly say this game is the most fun I've ever had in VR... and I've played a lot of VR games!"

The player in VR becomes a large tree who looks to protect the 'seeds of life' - otherwise known as the Golden Acrons - and those players on mobile look to steal these Acrons as squirrels. We can expect several levels to play on, and the game is coming to "several major VR platforms" as well as Android and iOS.

For more on the game, visit the official site, and we can expect the game this summer. Do you like the mix of mobile and VR?
