Earlier this fall, Capcom and Constantin Film confirmed they're working on a new live action Resident Evil movie that will reboot the franchise on the big screen. We were told that 47 Meters Down director Johannes Roberts and crew had already started working on the project, and recent leaked images sure made it seem like the project hasn't been too affected by Covid-19. As does a recent update from Constantin.

The German production company has updated its website to include the fact that what's simply called Resident Evil - Reboot will makes its way to theatres on September 9. It's as usual important to note that many movies are still getting delayed because of production issues or just to wait for theatres around the world to open, so plans can obviously change. At least it sounds like this more faithful reboot's zombies haven't been significantly halted by the pandemic so far.
