The large French video game site Jeux Video reports that they can confirm that Microsoft will show their next generation of Xbox consoles, codenamed Scarlet, at this year's E3 in June, with a launch planned for 2020. They also somewhat vaguely confirm the early leaked configurations of Anaconda and Lockhart that surfaced last year, which puts the significantly more powerful Anaconda at 16 GB GDDR6 memory and a Custom NAVI 12+ Teraflops GPU, though it doesn't seem they have direct confirmation on the specs, which could have changed since the leak. Anaconda is positioned as a replacement for Xbox One X at around the same price point ($500), while Lockhart is seen as an entry-level model without a disc-tray. Halo Infinite, is pegged as a launch title though it will also be playable on Xbox One consoles.
How reliable is the information? Jeux Video has a fairly solid reputation but has run a bit far with rumours at times in the past, it would, however, make sense that Microsoft would want to hammer home the advantage of Sony not coming to E3 with a major reveal. It would be a different strategy to unveil their upcoming consoles more than a year before launch, and we don't think that Microsoft would announce price points for the consoles that far out.
Either way, with Sony staying on the sidelines it will be interesting to see how Microsoft take advantage of the vacuum it creates this June.
