Rockstar already said that Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode, Red Dead Online, would be released in beta form sometime in November, so we knew that we'd be able to rule the Wild West with our friends before Saturday. Now we know exactly when it starts.
The studio has announced that the beta will start tomorrow for those of you have the Ultimate Edition of Red Dead Redemption 2. You shouldn't be too disappointed if you chose one of the less expensive versions though, as you'll get access to Red Dead Online on Wednesday if you played the game when it launched on October 26. Those of you who didn't get to play the game until October 27 or before October 29 will be able to go online on Thursday, while the rest of the world will enter the fray on Friday. Presumably a move to ease the load of players coming in all at once.
Rockstar has also taken the opportunity to remind us that Red Dead Online will support up to 32 players in each world, that we'll have the opportunity to posse up with 7 other players, and that they have big plans for the future of the mode, so expect to spend many more hours in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online during the rest of 2018 and beyond.
Will you go into Red Dead Online straight away or will you spend some more time in Red Dead Redemption 2 before venturing into the even wilder West with other players?
