The weather forecast is finally pointing to sure rain in GT Sport. Fans didn't have any dance or ritual left to try and make it happen, but Polyphony Digital finally listened and their answer is just on time to freshen up this summer's final stretch. That's it, starting tomorrow, the 1.43 update will add the rain weather option, a condition that was teased during the weekend. For now, however, you'll only find wet asphalt on the Red Bull Ring.
Apart from rain being added, the free update also adds a bunch of new cars other than the previously-leaked Honda S2000:
1999 Honda S2000
1990 Nissan Silvia K's Dia Selection (S13)
1983 Toyota Corolla Levin 1600GT APEX (AE86)
1999 Subaru Impreza Coupe WRX Type R STi Version VI
1991 Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo
Here's the very first official screenshots of both the wet track and the new cars
In other, somewhat related news, the Gran Turismo World Tour - New York was held during the weekend. At the event, Sony announced a new partnership with tires brand Michelin, which will not only add to the branding side of the game, but also to its simulation.
The event saw Brazilian racer Igor Fraga becoming the champion, with German Mikail Hizal second and Spanish Coque López coming in third. The last race was held at the Spa-Francorchamps track, which was never seen before and is one of the most requested for the game. Now it's only a matter of time for the players to try it out it in-game, but not yet with tomorrow's update.
