The PC version of PUBG just got a significant update that brings with it some interesting gameplay improvements, including a ping system similar to the one used to great effect in Apex Legends.

While players won't get a voiced acknowledgement, they can now highlight in-game items and enemies to comrades in a system that Apex Legends players should be familiar with. As detailed in the latest patch notes, players in Duos and Squads will be able to notify each other about sweet loot, objectives and more, with textual updates appearing on the screen.

Other notable additions include the new BRDM-2, which replaces the armoured UAZ. Players can call the new amphibious vehicle from outside of the zone, and thanks to its bulletproof wheels and the fact that it has twice as much HP as the old UAZ, it could well help you out of a bind if you find yourself out on the edge of the map and in trouble.

On top of that there's the new Deagle, which boasts "the strongest pistol damage with great muzzle velocity", although dealing 62 damage per shot means the new gun has quite the kick. Gas cans also have added functionality, as they can be dropped and then exploded to create area-of-effect damage that hurts those standing closest by.

Finally, the last major change heading to the PC version of the game is the new ledge grab ability, with players now able to access new areas and jump between raised platforms up to 2.5 meters high by pressing and holding jump, or pressing jump when in mid-air to grab the desired ledge.

There are many smaller changes listed in the patch notes if you want to know more about the 30th content update for the PC version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
