PUBG Mobile hits 600 million downloads

A lot of players have experienced the battle royale game on the go, which was first released last year.

Following the roaring success of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds when it was released on PC, we soon got other versions on Xbox One and then PS4, with a mobile edition also becoming available. It turns out this particular version is rather popular too, as it's just passed the staggering figure of 600 million downloads, as revealed on Twitter.

The first versions of PUBG Mobile were released in February of last year, starting in China and then expanding to the West a month later. Since then players from around the world have been trying it out, resulting in a thriving esports scene as well, just like with the main game and other battle royale titles like Fortnite.

PUBG Mobile Lite was also released this year as well, providing a less demanding version with a smaller map hosting 60 players. It helps that both this and the main Mobile version are free-to-play as well, meaning anyone can dive in.
