PUBG Mobile has as many players as Fortnite

The mobile battle royale game has 200 million players, a total that Fortnite had reached at the end of November.

Although Fortnite has been the dominant force on PC and consoles in recent memory, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has still put up a fight, especially on the mobile front. PUBG Corp told The Verge that PUBG Mobile now has just as many players as Fortnite, with numbers of over 200 million users (China excluded), and now both of the games have the same daily active users too, at 30 million.

It's important to note that Fortnite was reported to have 200 million players on November 26 though, so there's a possibility that the game has racked up more players since. But with Chinese players excluded, PUBG Mobile's number may be even bigger, as mobile gaming there is preferred over console and PC games. This number also doesn't include 50 million copies on PC and consoles for PUBG either.

The number of PUBG Mobile players may be boosted by winning the Game of the Year award from Google Play, while Fortnite - which is not distributed by the Google platform - has its own launcher and platform.

What do you make of both of the games? Do you prefer either?

REVIEW. Written by Petter Hegevall

"Besides minor issues, PUBG Mobile takes the successful formula of the original PC version and moves it successfully to mobile devices."
