Krafton has now announced that the first ever PUBG Global Series tournament will start next month and that it will be held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Set for April 27 through May 7, the event will feature a $500,000 prize pool, and we're also told a bit about the format.

In total, 24 teams will be in attendance, including the eight partner teams, with the remaining slots being distributed as follows: three from the Americas, six from APAC, five from Asia, and two from Europe.

As for the format, we're told that it will start with a group stage, which will lead into a winners/losers knockout bracket, all before the Grand Finals on May 7. It will also be the last tournament to use the v3.0.5 ruleset, and teams will be competing on the Erangel and Miramar maps.
