Iron Fish is a collaborative project between BeefJack and designer Dean Edwards, and it's described as a psychological thriller set down in the darkest depths of the ocean. Here's a short description from the press release that included the announcement:
"Discover what lies forgotten at the bottom of the ocean. Play as Cerys, a deep sea investigator for an elite British Naval group and use her state-of-the-art, government-funded equipment to submerge as far as we can go. But seven miles under the surface is dangerous territory for humans, especially when only 5 per cent of Earth's oceans have been explored so far."
The game is due out in late 2015, and it'll put players up against deap-sea creatures, with backdrops that include "sunny coral reefs" and "the pitch-black abyssal plain". The press release also mentions new creatures, submerged lost civilisations, and a "winding story that blurs the boundaries between science and the supernatural."
Creator Dean Edwards had this to say: "We have been eagerly waiting for the right time to show Iron Fish. This project combines my passion for games and my life-long love of unusual horror. After being captivated by documentaries like The Blue Planet and Natural World, I was really interested to explore the terrifying but reverent quality that the deep can convey."
