We caught up with Grip Digital's CEO Jakub Mikyska to talk about their business of porting popular indie titles on PC over to consoles. Next up, is Tower of Guns.

"The game can get incredibly insane, you know. You can have hundreds of projectiles flying at you. Shrapnel, pixels just flying everywhere. And it eats away at the CPU quite a lot. So on PC you don't really have to worry that much about CPU power, because people are used to upgrading their stuff. So on console we had to do a lot of optimisations, make the game really fit to the consoles without compromising any of the gameplay. We're actually very proud that the game looks and plays exactly the same as if you turned it on on a high-end rig on PC. It plays great, even on PS3 it works well. And on the PS4 and Xbox One it runs just excellently."

Mikyska also teased their next announcement of an indie port on consoles back when the interview was filmed (during GDC). That announcement was for Q.U.B.E: Director's Cut - that's heading to PS3, PS4, Wii U and Xbox One this summer.

Tower of Guns

REVIEW. Written by Adrian Berg

"Tower of Guns is an exercise in patience, fortitude and old school twitch reflexes. It's an arcade game with an endless supply of enemies and a single goal, get to the top of the tower."
